Howdy! Here we are, already -- the last Sunday of February! Hope you're doing well, and that you were able to join us for the 45th "home-made" edition of our Bluegrass Cafe.
During Sunday's show, as always, we shared a few songs from folks who would have celebrated (or, who still celebrate) birthdays during this week. Four of these birthday celebrants are members of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, including Doug Dillard, John Duffey, Don Stover, and Doc Watson. We also remembered the King of Western Swing, Bob Wills, with a Bluegrass medley of his songs.
We also shared a few songs from two important albums in the history of Bluegrass music: the Lonesome River Band's "Carrying The Tradition" (released 30 years ago this year), and the first "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" collection from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band who were joined by a whole bunch of their musical heroes (3-LP set released March 1, 1972).
