"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 12/13/2020

Can you believe it's already the middle of December?  Hope you're doing well during this strangest December in modern memory, and that you were able to join us for our 34th pre-recorded session of our Bluegrass Cafe.  

Sunday's show featured a bit of Christmas music (naturally!), as well as a few selections from 2020 recordings, and the celebration of a birthday or two, including that of Country Music Hall of Famers Bill Carlisle (of "No Help Wanted" fame, plus the writer of the gospel classic, "Gone Home") and the male representative of the First Family of Country Music, A.P. Carter (born December 15, 1891).  Hard to imagine Bluegrass, country, or any kind of American music without the influence of the Carter Family. During these pre-recorded COVID editions of the show, the majority of the music you hear is music in my own personal music collection.  However, I am grateful to have a brother (Dave) who has a big collection of music, and sometimes, he will even share it with me.  :)  This week, I played a few live tunes from a huge Bear Family box set in Dave's collection, "At The
Louisiana Hayride Tonight."  The 20-disc set is filled mainly with country music recorded live at this radio program. We included five songs performed by Jimmy Martin & the Sunny Mountain Boys, Buzz Busby & the Bayou Boys, and the Osborne Brothers.
