"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 4/22/2007

The middle hour of Sunday's show featured a long-time friend of Bluegrass Cafe as a Guest DJ. James Ward had pledged $50 during our recent Radiothon campaign, and in return, he received one hour of time on the radio at Bluegrass Cafe to play all songs of his own choosing. For the past several years, James has made this pledge, and we really enjoy having in the studio and seeing what he's going to play. For something a bit different this year, the songs he chose to play were pretty much from all female BG singers -- James's picks are noted on this list in red. Later on this week, I'll post a picture of James behind the mic.

We also included a teeny bit of new music from the new projects of Larry Sparks ("The Last Suit You Wear" on McCoury Music) and David Parmley & Continental Divide ("Church House Hymns" released on the band's own label). We didn't get to play quite as many tunes from these new projects as we'd have liked, but you'll be hearing a whole lot more from them in future editions of Bluegrass Cafe. Jim & Marti join you on the air next week, I do believe.....
