On Saturday, August 19th, Nick Anderson & the Gospel Friends will be performing Music At Twilight at the Prudence Crandall Museum in Canterbury. Bring your lawn chairs, as this will be an outdoor lawn concert that will start around 6:30PM and end about 9PM. I believe there is a very small admission fee.
If you're not familiar with Nick & the Gospel Friends, perhaps it's time to acquaint yourself. We've had this group perform live in the studio at the BG Cafe twice, and each time, they've received a great response. The group includes Nick Anderson on guitar & vocals, Janice Main on vocals, Jim Plecan on mandolin & vocals, Tom Bowman on bass & vocals, and Rich Guilbault on the banjo. And, contrary to their group name, you may hear selections that are not gospel tunes. Stop by the museum and check them out.
For what it's worth, the weather forecast for tomorrow evening calls for temps. in the mid-70s, and about a 20% chance for precipitation. However, as we all know, it's probably best to just wait 'til tomorrow night, and see how the weather really is. Time will tell.
The Prudence Crandall Museum -- home of Connecticut's "State Female Hero" -- is located at the junction of Routes 14 & 169 in Canterbury, and is listed on the Register of National Historic Places. For more information, or directions to the museum, contact Museum Curator Kaz Kozlowski at (860)546-7800 ext. 8, or visit the Crandall website.
