"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 3/6/2022

Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe featured something that I haven't done in over two years -- a bona fide, live-as-it's-happening telephone interview!  Our interviewee was the delightful Michelle Canning, who told us all about the things she's been doing (writing songs like crazy!) and also, about her upcoming virtual event to benefit the Alzheimer's Foundation of America:  A Night On The Edge.  For more information about the event and all of the other things Michelle is doing, visit Michelle's website (https://michellecanning.net).

The songs we played also included birthday selections in honor of two Bluegrass Hall of Fame banjo players who were both born on March 6th:  Don Stover (1928) and Doug Dillard (1937).  Other birthday music celebrated Norman Blake, Rickie Simpkins, Cia Cherryholmes, and the first part of a two-show selection of songs written by the great Marshall Wilborn.

And we remembered Mac Martin, who died on February 28th at the age of 96.  Mr. Martin was a fine purveyor of traditional Bluegrass music in the Pittsburgh, PA area for over 70 years.  Amazing.

We'll look for you once again next Sunday afternoon from 4-7PM.  Hope you have a fine week!

Amy O.
