"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 3/1/2020

The first Bluegrass Cafe in March began ten minutes after its scheduled start time, as UConn Baseball season has begun.  Still, we crammed in a good bit of music, both newer songs and classics.  Hope you were able to join us!

Don Stover:  one of four early March
birthday celebrants!
Birthday tributes were plentiful on Sunday, as we remembered the first week of March birthdays of Bluegrass Hall of Famers Doug Dillard, John Duffey, Don Stover, and Doc Watson.  We also celebrated the Leap Year birthday of Mike Compton and shared two Stanley Brothers classics that were recorded on March 1, 1949.

While there wasn't a whole lot of brand new music this week, we did include a new song from Chris Jones & the Night Drivers, as well as recent releases from Junior Sisk, Jeff Parker, and Audie Blaylock & Redline.

Our WHUS Sports Department tells us that next Sunday (March 8th) will be the day for the UConn Women's Basketball team to play in a tournament, with the game beginning either at 4PM or at 6:30PM on that day.  IF the game starts at 4PM, it is unlikely our Bluegrass Cafe will air at all, but if basketball starts at 6:30PM, we will have a shortened show, at least.  We'll keep you posted...

Thanks for listening, and have yourself a great week!
