In short, Sunday's show was one full of songs in celebration of three Bluegrass birthdays this week - two on August 27th (Carter Stanley born on 8/27/1925 and J.D. Crowe on 8/27/1937) and one on August 29th (Shawn Camp born 8/29/1966). In addition, we remembered Peter V. Kuykendall -- the longtime publisher of Bluegrass Unlimited magazine, as well as one of the founders of the International Bluegrass Music Association, a multi-talented musician, fine songwriter, and a member of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame. Mr Kuykendall died this past week on August 24th at the age of 79. New music was part of our programming on Sunday, too, as there were selections from soon-to-be released recordings by Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Flatt Lonesome, Shannon Slaughter, and the Grascals.
