With musical recognitions of Tax Day, George Shuffler's birthday, Lincoln's death, the sinking of the Titanic, and Doug Dillard's convalescence, we still had time to bring lots of new music to the WHUS airwaves.

Steep Canyon Rangers' Latest

The New Doyle Gospel Album

New music came from The Steep Canyon Rangers, Marty Raybon, The Grascals, Brand New Strings, The Boxcars, Carrie Hassler, The Spinney Brothers, and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver.  We also heard a couple of tunes from the new "Life Goes On" release of performances at the Musicians Against Childhood Cancer festival in Ohio of which we featured The Gibson Brothers and J.D. Crowe and the New South.

Pennsylvanian Saravanan Sankaran is mostly known in bluegrass as the bass player and excellent vocalist with The Dixie Bee Liners.  Sav has had a solo album out for a while that we finally were able to play on the air, and it's a dandy.

We also played a couple of tunes from Norman Blake and Tony Rice in recognition of the anniversary of the death of Abraham Lincoln April 15, 1865.


We couldn't let the show pass without playing a Doug Dillard banjo tune to wish Doug a speedy recovery from his recent hospitalization.
