"Bluegrass Cafe" Playlist - 5/8/2011 - Mother's Day

Hi Folks,

We braved the graduation crowds at UCONN to bring you this program which started a half-hour late for a baseball preemption, but we had time to honor our mothers on Mother's Day with a bunch of bluegrass "mother songs." We also had time to bring you an interview with Tony Trischka and give away a couple of tickets to his upcoming show, Tony Trischka Territory, in East Hartford, CT, Saturday May 21.

Also on this program were the first two of several songs recorded the day before by The Spinney Brothers in our own WHUS production studio. Amy and I will be playing the remaining tracks in the future as I get all the post-processing completed.

One of the newest "mother songs" on this program was a new one from Randy Waller and the Country Gentlemen and their new album "One Mile East Of Hazel Green."

A couple of great new songs came from another new CD in the studio titled "I'll Take Love (From The Pen Of Louisa Branscomb)." Louisa is a fine songwriter who has had many of her songs recorded by prominent bluegrass and country artists.
