Over the past couple of weeks, we've received a bit of new music, and a few of those tunes were highlighted on Sunday's show. Included in this batch was a track from the forthcoming Rural Rhythm debut release from Audie Blaylock & Redline, as well as two new CDs from family bands on Mastershield Records (Lonesome Meadow & the Wilson Family Band). In addition, Pam Gadd has a new solo CD, as does a New Hampshire fiddler named Rich Hamilton, so we included music from each of these fine projects.
Looking back, it seems like 2008 was a pretty good year for Bluegrass, with fabulous new recordings from acts like Dailey & Vincent, Cody Shuler & Pine Mountain Railroad, Danny Paisley & the Southern Grass, the Gibson Brothers, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, and many, many more. While I tried to play a bit from lots of CDs released in 2008, I still missed a lot of good stuff (Big Country Bluegrass, Rick Hayes, Everett Lilly, and more). We'll definitely try to get tunes from those discs on the air next time around....even if it won't be until 2009!
