Chris Stuart is November's "Songwriter Chat" guest

Candi Sawyer, publisher of the Bluegrass Guide, would like you to know that the Songwriter Chat at her website this month will feature special guest, Chris Stuart. Chris fronts the band, Backcountry, and is a past first-prize winner of the Chris Austin Songwriter contest at Merlefest in both the bluegrass and gospel categories. Some of his compositions include "Julia Belle" -- a tune that can be found on at least two 2006 recordings -- 5 South by Backcountry's banjo player, Janet Beazley, and Catch Tomorrow by Dale Ann Bradley -- as well as a fine gospel tune recorded a few years back by Claire Lynch, "Paul And Peter Walked." If you are a subscriber to Bluegrass Unlimited magazine, you may have also noticed that Chris has had a couple of interviews published in the past year or two in that publication; Ralph Stanley (seen here being interviewed by Chris), the Gibson Brothers, Del McCoury, Tim O'Brien, and Lou Reid are just a few of his subjects. For more information on Chris Stuart and Backcountry, visit their band website.

To join Chris in the Songwriter chat room, go to the Bluegrass Guide website, then click "Chat Room" (left side of the screen), and "Enter." This will happen on Tuesday, November 21st at 8PM. As always, New Hampshire songwriter, Rick Lang, is your chat room host.
