"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 3/8/2026

Before it's Sunday again, here's a look back at our March 8th Bluegrass Cafe.  It was a slightly abbreviated program, beginning 15 minutes later than 4PM as the UConn Women's Basketball team played in the Big East Tournament.  

March 8th was International Woman's Day, so we shared music from many of the fine women performers who have survived and thrived in the World of Bluegrass.  We included everyone from Sara and Maybelle Carter to Martha Adcock and Lynn Morris to Molly Tuttle.  

During our program, we took a few minutes to remember the music of Jim Buchanan (January 1, 1941 - March 6, 2026) -- a top-notch Bluegrass fiddler who worked for many years with Jim & Jesse & the Virginia Boys, as well as with country music performers like George Jones and Mel Tillis.  

And we took a few minutes to chat with Rhode Island Bluegrass Alliance President Jeffrey Horton, as the RIBA folks have a wonderful concert event they are presenting at Bally's Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI on March 21st.  Find more info about RIBA, this event, and their upcoming Hall of Fame ceremonies in April by clicking on the hyperlinks.
