"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 4/9/2023

Happy Easter!  Appropriately, approximately one-third of our Bluegrass Cafe was filled with songs all about the Easter Story, from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection.  Hope you all had a pleasant day.

Our brand-new music this week was a little bittersweet, as we received a new CD from the Connecticut trio, Still Pickin'.  This group included Jim Sharpley, a fine musician who died suddenly in March.  Jim was a good friend who wintered in Florida, but every Spring, he would return to Connecticut and come to visit me at my library.  We would talk about the Podunk Bluegrass Festival in August (where Jim was the Stage Manager, and I helped with the MC work), and Jim would generally bring me the latest CD from Still Pickin'.  Unfortunately, that visit won't happen this Spring, but I'm very grateful to Jim's bandmate, Dennis Sheridan, as he sent WHUS a copy of the newest CD.  Thanks to him.

Other newer music we enjoyed this week came from Larry Sparks, the Gibson Brothers, Jason Barie, Rock Hearts, Greg Blake, Billy Strings, and the Kody Norris Show.

We'll be back on the air with you again this coming Sunday, 4-7PM.  Hope you can join us...

Until then, have a great week!

Amy O.
