"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 7/3/2022

For our July 3rd Bluegrass Cafe broadcast, we included a full hour's worth+ of patriotic songs performed in a Bluegrass style.  What else could you possibly expect on the day before Independence Day?

Not only did we share songs to celebrate the 246th birthday of the USA, but we also celebrated several Bluegrass birthdays, including those of Keith Whitley, Dempsey Young, Charlie Monroe, Everett Lilly, Jesse McReynolds, Peter Rowan, and Jimmy Gaudreau.

And, as always, there was a bit of newer music to share, with new or recent recordings from Irene Kelley, JR Williams, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Pam Gadd, Appalachian Road Show, Shelton & Williams, the Lost & Found, Mickey Galyean & Cullen's Bridge, Kathy Kallick, and Laura Orshaw.

Finally, we remembered in song two important historical events that took place in the early part of July:  the disappearance of the plane of Amelia Earhart (July 2, 1937) and the Battle of Gettyburg (July 1-3, 1863).

Hope you're all having a safe and happy 4th of July!  We'll look for you on the radio once again next Sunday afternoon from 4-7PM.

Enjoy the week!
