Happy Father's Day! |
We celebrated a few Bluegrass dads who have enjoyed making some fine music with their sons and daughters over the years. To that end, we enjoyed musical selections from families with the last names of McCoury, Paisley, Feinberg, McGee, Parmley, Mullins, Vincent, and, of course, the Father of Bluegrass Music -- Bill Monroe with son, James. There are, of course, other fathers who have played music with their offspring over the years, and we'll try to include more of those in future weeks of our program. In addition, there was a whole hour of songs about fathers -- some good, and some who could use a bit of improvement, to say the least.
Stonewall Bluegrass (Ed Vande Voorde, guitar; Pete Soukas, bass; Tim Mowry, mandolin; Gary Filgate, banjo) |
Hope you all have a wonderful week. Don't forget to check in via email (bgcafe@gmail.com) or take a look (and a "like") of our Facebook page. Still no telling of when we might be able to return to broadcasting in a "normal" way (i.e. live from the Student Union at UConn), but we'll keep recording shows as long as necessary.
Thanks for listening, and stay healthy!
