We began the broadcast with several songs either written about, gathered by, or performed by Alvin Pleasant Carter -- the lone male in the original trio known as the Carter Family. A.P. Carter was born on this date -- December 15th -- in 1891. As Christmas is just ten days away -- and our program is scheduled to be preempted by yet another Women's Basketball broadcast next Sunday afternoon -- we included several Bluegrass Christmas selections in our playlist today.
