"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 8/14/2016

Sunday afternoon's Bluegrass Cafe was a lot of fun -- or, shall I say that it definitely was fun for me, and hopefully, was enjoyed by our listeners, too!

Two of Saturday's fine -- and hot -- Podunk performers:
Joe Mullins & Junior Sisk.
We began the show with several songs from a few Podunk performers, including the South Carolina Broadcasters, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Sideline, Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, and Saturday night's headliners, the Del McCoury Band.  Big congratulations to the Podunk organizers and volunteers for such a fabulous festival held under some pretty hot and humid conditions.

Edgar Loudermilk
We also had a telephone visit on Sunday afternoon with the fine singer, songwriter, and now, band leader, Edgar Loudermilk.  Our main topic of conversation was Edgar's very good solo recording on Pinecastle Records which was released in early July:  "Georgia Maple."  Thanks to him for visiting with us!

There was a tiny bit of newer music to be heard on Sunday, too.  This time, the newer selections came from the aforementioned Edgar Loudermilk, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, and Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, as well as Mickey Galyean & Cullen's Bridge, Audie Blaylock & Redline, the Po' Ramblin' Boys, Travers Chandler, David Parmley & Cardinal Tradition, the Boxcars, the Spinney Brothers, and the Earls Of Leicester.

Hope you're staying cool during this steamy August.  Be sure to join Jim for some cool Bluegrass next Sunday afternoon, 4-7PM!

Amy
