"Bluegrass Cafe" Playlist - 6/13/2010

Hi Folks!

New releases continue to arrive and we are having fun introducing them to Southern New England via the WHUS airwaves. Aligning with a segment earlier in the day on the CBS Sunday Morning program, we introduced tracks from the new
Dierks Bentley CD, "Up On The Ridge."

Other new music included tracks from the latest release from
Special Consensus, "35", the new release from J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson, and Paul Williams titled "Old Friends Get Together," and singles from upcoming releases from The Lonesome River Band and James Reams and The Barnstormers.

We also featured tracks from a new CD from local guitar pickers Fred Etheridge and Nick Anderson, and James Alan Shelton provided a great foundation for our bluegrass calendar with tracks from his new CD. We continued playing tracks from the new CD from The Old Time Bluegrass Singers, "Plastic Heart," for the folks who couldn't make it to their CD release performance in downtown Hartford taking place at the same time as the Bluegrass Cafe was on the air.

The Heritage
Corner brought forth great vinyl from Ted Lundy, Bob Paisley & The Southern Mountain Boys, King recordings from The Stanley Brothers, and music from The Johnson Mountain Boys not yet on CD.

Amy had emcee duties over at Sterling Campground today for the Bluegrass For Food event, so perhaps she will provide an update in the coming days.

I'll be back next week, so tune in 4-7pm ET at 91.7 FM in eastern Connecticut, or at http://whus.org
