Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe was all about celebrating two bona fide Country Music legends, as well as remembering a mandolin master. We also included a couple of brand-new songs from fiddle players named Jason.
Our Country Music legends included the King of Country Music, Roy Acuff (September 15, 1903 - November 23, 1992), and, of course, the one and only Hank Williams (September 17, 1923 - January 1, 1953). Both of these performers have had their material covered by numerous performers in the world of Bluegrass Music, and so, we shared quite a few covers for both Roy and Hank. We even included a couple of songs written about Hank.
We couldn't forget to remember the great Herschel Sizemore (August 6, 1935 - September 9, 2022). This mandolin master performed with many bands over the years, and we shared some of his music made on his own, as well as with the Dixie Gentlemen, a short-lived group called Country Grass, and the Bluegrass Cardinals.
In addition, there were two brand new songs from two Bluegrass fiddlers named Jason (Jason Barie and Jason Carter). Other newer music was enjoyed from the likes of Greg Blake & Hometown, East Nash Grass, Blue Highway, Authentic Unlimited, and Peter Rowan.
