"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 5/29/2022

On this Memorial Day Sunday, we remembered in song the meaning of this somber holiday.  To that end, during this day's Bluegrass Cafe, we shared lots of songs that told the story of the soldier who didn't make it home.

We also celebrated the birthdays of several Bluegrass folks born on May 29th, including the late Earl Pike, Stephen Mougin, and my brother, Dave "Tex" Orlomoski.  In addition, we remembered the May 23rd birth anniversary of Country and Bluegrass Hall of Fame member, Mac Wiseman.  And we shared just a couple of songs written by the late powerhouse couple of Tom T. Hall (May 25, 1936 - August 20, 2021) and Miss Dixie Hall (May 26, 1934 - January 16, 2015).  During next week's broadcast, we'll share more songs from the Halls.

And, of course, there was a bit of newer music, from brand-new recordings by Authentic Unlimited, Jim Hurst, Circus No. 9, Jesse Smathers, Laura Orshaw, and the Gibson Brothers.

Thank you for tuning in today, and we'll look forward to joining you once again next Sunday afternoon, 4-7PM.

Enjoy the week!
