"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 11/7/2021

Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe aired on a "Fall Back" day, so we shared some songs about time to get the show started.  We also included a whole bunch of music in honor of Country Music Hall of Famer, Whisperin' Bill Anderson, whose 84th birthday was celebrated on November 1st.  If that wasn't enough, we included a bit of music from two of the newest members of the Rhode Island Bluegrass Alliance (RIBA) Hall of Fame.  It was a show filled with fine music!  Hope you were able to tune in for a bit.

On Saturday evening (November 6th), RIBA hosted a wonderful Hall of Fame ceremony honoring the music endeavors of four important performers in the history of Bluegrass music in Rhode Island and southern New England.  As they weren't able to hold their induction ceremony in 2020 due to COVID, this event featured both the 2020 inductees (the late brothers, Fred & Earl Pike, as well as Rhode Island banjo picker Richard Guilbault) and the 2021 honorees (Connecticut's Nick Anderson and Rhode Island pioneer Roger Williams).  While I wasn't able to find music to share from Rich Guilbault or Roger Williams, I am certainly willing to play some on the air if anyone has any to share.  We did, however, include a bit of music from Nick Anderson (both with Shady Creek, as well as with the Gospel Friends) and the Pike Brothers & the Pine Hill Ranchers.  It's so important to honor these Bluegrass pioneers.  Thank you to RIBA for doing this!
