"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 5/4/2025

On the May 4th edition of Bluegrass Cafe, we shared lots of fine music -- some classic and some of the very new variety.  We even included some non-Bluegrass music...but not too much.

For the new music, we shared songs from forthcoming projects by Rrinaco (a new musical endeavor from High Fidelity's Corrina Rose Logston Stephens) as well as the Tidalwave Road Bluegrass Band, as well as recent releases from the Seldom Scene, Danny Paisley & the Southern Grass, Big Country Bluegrass, the Travelin' McCourys, the Henhouse Prowlers, and Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers.  In addition, we shared music from a soon-to-be-released recording from Missy Raines & Allegheny on Compass Records called "Love & Trouble."  Missy and her fine, energetic band have been performing all over the northeast for the last week or so in support of this new record, and it's a dandy.  We hope to have a chat with Missy on the air over the next few weeks, so we'll let you know when that happens.

For the non-Bluegrass music, we shared a selection from Country Music Hall of Famer, Randy Travis (who was born on May 4, 1959).  In addition to two Bluegrass covers of Randy Travis songs, we played Randy's first chart record, "1982."

One week from today is Commencement at the University of Connecticut.  Parking is always a big whoop on campus during graduation, so we'll have to let you know if there will be a live edition of our Bluegrass Cafe on May 11th or not.  We'll post on our WHUS Bluegrass Cafe Facebook page, so keep your eyes open...

...and have a good week!
