"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 5/25/2025

During Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe, we spent a good portion of our program remembering those soldiers who gave their lives in battle for our country.  While this is always a very sad subject, there have been so many wonderful and poignant songs written that are appropriate to share on Memorial Day -- and so, we did.  We won't forget.

We also shared lots of music from three folks who would have celebrated their birthdays in the month of May:  two of them are members of the Country Music Hall of Fame, and all three of them have been inducted into the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.  We'll never forget "The Voice With A Heart," Mac Wiseman (May 23, 1925 - February 24, 2019), as well as "The Storyteller," Tom T. Hall (May 25, 1936 - August 20, 2021), and his wife "Miss Dixie" Deen Hall (May 26, 1934 - January 16, 2015).  Their contributions to the world of Bluegrass music will be honored forever.

There was some new music to share, too, most notably this week from longtime Northeastern Bluegrass favorite Danny Paisley and his new album, "Bluegrass State Of Mind."  We also shared recent music from Missy Raines & Allegheny, Carter & Cleveland, Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, and the Tennessee Bluegrass Band.
