"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 5/11/2025

Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe was mostly about Mother, just as it should have been on a
Mother's Day
.  We included many songs about the most important woman in many of our lives.  Hope you had a nice chance to visit with your mother on Sunday -- or remember her with great fondness and affection (as I did mine).

In addition to sharing songs about moms, we included Bluegrass tributes both to the late duet "brothers" (in-law), Johnnie & Jack, as both Johnnie Wright and Jack Anglin were born on the same date two years apart.  We also remembered the great Johnny Rodriguez, who by no stretch of the imagination could ever be considered a Bluegrass performer, but he sure did make some great records in the early 1970s that have withstood the test of time (and have been covered in the Bluegrass world many a time).

New music was a big part of the show, too.  To that end, we heard brand new music from the Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Sister Sadie, and Don Rigsby (with Ronnie Reno).  There was also recently released music by Missy Raines & Allegheny, Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, Laura Orshaw, Big Country Bluegrass, Special Consensus, Red Camel Collective, and Alison Krauss & Union Station.

Thanks for listening, as always.  Hope you'll consider joining us once again this coming Sunday from 4-7PM for another edition of our Bluegrass Cafe.

Until then, enjoy the week!

Amy O.
