"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 7/20/2025

Our Bluegrass Cafe this past Sunday began with lots of music from two of the three newest members of the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame -- two wonderful bands which began in the 1970s and continued making wonderful records for the next several decades:  the Bluegrass Cardinals and Hot Rize.  Such fabulous music was created by all of these gentlemen, and how wonderful that members of each band still continue to create fine music for all of us to enjoy.  While we have always shared music from these performers during our Bluegrass Cafe shows, we'll emphasize each band a bit more as we get closer to their official HoF induction ceremonies in September at IBMA.  Congratulations to both bands!

Also, congratulations to the third posthumous 2025 inductee to the Bluegrass Hall of Fame -- someone whose influence was important to the beginnings of Bluegrass Music and especially to the Father of Bluegrass Music (Bill Monroe, of course!).  Arnold Shultz and his music were important early influences to Bill Monroe, and while Mr. Shultz never recorded, his music has lived on through our Bluegrass music.

Staying in the Hall of Fame "theme" a bit, we celebrated the July birthdays of several important members of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame:  Sara Carter (July 21, 1898 - January 8, 1979), Foggy Mountain Boy Jake Tullock (July 23, 1923 - June 18, 1988), Bobby Hicks (July 21, 1933 - August 16, 2024), and Alison Krauss (born July 23, 1971).

And, of course, new music was heard as well, from several performers, including Junior Sisk, Nick Chandler & Delivered, a band called Throwback Thursday, Hammertowne, and the late Bobby Osborne & C.J. Lewandowski & Friends.

Hope you're able to join us once again this Sunday afternoon from 4-7PM for another edition of our Bluegrass Cafe!

Until then, enjoy the weekend!

Amy O.
