Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe included lots of fine music, as you might expect. Specifically, we heard some brand-new from a couple of different performers, including several selections from Connecticut's own Amy Gallatin & Roger Williams. We also celebrated several July birthdays, so it was a full three-hours.
The July birthdays included a couple that were celebrated exactly on June 13th: those of Mike Barber (a/k/a "The Third Gibson Brother"), the late Larry McPeak, and the Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent. Other July celebrants from whom we shared music include Wayne Taylor (of Wayne Taylor & Appaloosa fame), and Bluegrass Hall of Fame members Richard Underwood (long-time banjo player with the Johnson Mountain Boys) and Ricky Skaggs. Happy Birthday to all!
New music selections came as singles from forthcoming recordings by the Tennessee Bluegrass Band, Dale Ann Bradley, and Danny Roberts. We also heard selections from recently-released recordings by Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, the Kody Norris Show, Rrinaco, Carson Peters & Iron Mountain, Missy Raines & Allegheny, and Danny Paisley. We also shared several selections from the brand-new recording by Connecticut performers, Amy Gallatin & Roger Williams. Hope you were able to join us.
