"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 6/18/2017

Happy Father's Day to Alton Orlomoski -- and
all of our favorite dads!

There was so much to celebrate on our Bluegrass Cafe this week!  In addition to sharing lots of songs performed by Bluegrass fathers who work(ed) in bands with their offspring, we also heard several songs with dad as the main subject.  Hope the dads in our listening audience all had a most wonderful -- and relaxing -- Father's Day!

Two notable members of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame either would have celebrated or are celebrating a birthday this week.  What better way to remember these two gentlemen than by sharing a few some of their music?  To that end, we heard lots of Lester Flatt (who was born on June 19, 1914) and Eddie Adcock (who turns 79 on June 21st).  

In between all of those father songs and birthday songs, we included a small sample of tunes featured on the soon-to-be released record from Mark Kuykendall, Bobby Hicks & Asheville Bluegrass -- "Forever And A Day" -- on Rebel Records.  If you like traditional-sounding Bluegrass, this seems like a dandy.
