The Seth Sawyer Band played several tunes from their new CD at the recent Jenny Brook Bluegrass Festival. |
The Feinberg Brothers made their Jenny Brook -- and Vermont -- debut. |
Sunday's show included music from four traditional bands who hail from New York or New England. These include the debut self-titled recording from Long Island's Feinberg Brothers, Bear Minimum's "The Automobile Of Life," "Green Mountain Girl" by the Seth Sawyer Band, and a not-so-new-but-new-to-us recording from Vermont resident, Bob Amos ("Sunrise Blues").
We also shared a few songs from Bluegrass and Bluegrass-related folks who celebrate or would have celebrated their birthdays during the first few days of July, including Jimmy Gaudreau, Charlie Monroe, Peter Rowan, and Charlie Louvin.
There was a bit of newer music to be heard, too, from Big Country Bluegrass, the Roland White Band, Springfield Exit, John Curtis Goad, Carolina Road, the Grass Cats, the Gibson Brothers, and Shannon & Heather Slaughter. We also heard a couple of tracks from the soon-to-be-released record from Chris Jones & the Night Drivers on Mountain Home: "Run Away Tonight."
Hope you had a safe and happy 4th of July, and that you'll have a great week! Jim will join you for another big edition of our "Bluegrass Cafe" next Sunday afternoon, 4-7PM.
