We also did a set of songs from Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs to commemorate the anniversary of Lester's birthday June 19th.
By the way, "we" was Marti and me. Marti is off school now and just returned from a trip out West with a group of middle school students, and felt she could now devote at least one Sunday to the ol' radio show.
One surprise at having Marti on this show was her unexpectedly drawing out some of our own good father stories. Some were tough to get through, but we hope you enjoyed them anyway. Marti lost her father in 1998, and my father still resides in North Carolina with my mother in the house he built 50 years ago.
Amy has been doing a lot of fill-ins this summer at various times at WHUS, so perhaps you have heard her even though she has not been on Bluegrass Cafe for a few weeks. That will change this coming Sunday when Amy will make the banjos and fiddles ring.
