Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe featured a whole lot of music and talk about a very important figure in the world of Washington, D.C. Bluegrass: Buzz Busby (September 6, 1933 - January 5, 2003). We were delighted to have a telephone chat with two authors who spent 5+ years working on a newly-published book called Buzz Busby: Father Of Washington, D.C. Bluegrass (University of Illinois Press, 2026). Kip Lornell and Tom Mindte told us a bit about the writing and research process that went behind this book, as well as the reasons why Buzz Busby will always be so important in the history of Bluegrass music. If you are all interested in learning to know more about the history of Bluegrass Music, you need to find a copy of this book to read. Seek it out, if you can. And, of course, thank you to both Kip and Tom who joined us from different states for this telephone conversation.
