"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 10/27/2024

During Sunday's Bluegrass Cafe, we celebrated Halloween a few days early.  Around this time each year, it always seems appropriate to play several ghost story-type songs, and so we did.  We included a couple of different versions of some of these songs, so sure hope you enjoyed 'em.  Of course, the quintessential ghost story is that one that was co-written by the late John Duffey and first released on record by the Country Gentlemen in 1966.  Click here to see a clip of the Classic Country Gentlemen performing this tune at a reunion show in 1992.  And, of course, Happy Halloween!

There was a bit of newer music to share during this day's show, as well.  We heard brand-new music from Bob Minner featuring Jesse Smathers and Stephen & Jana Mougin.  There was also recent music from Laurie Lewis, Adam McIntosh, the Grascals, Dan Tyminski, and Tony Trischka.

And there were a few birthdays to celebrate, too, including those of Bluegrass Hall of Famer, Sonny Osborne (October 29, 1937 - October 21, 2021), as well as Martha Adcock (born October 29, 1949), Joe Mullins (born October 27, 1965), and New England Bluegrass legend, the late Fred Pike (October 27, 1932 - March 5, 1997).
