"Bluegrass Cafe" playlist - 3/19/2023

On this last full day of "Winter" (we really haven't had much winter weather in eastern Connecticut this season), we opened our Bluegrass Cafe with songs celebrating Spring!  Bring on the flowers!  Welcome back, baseball!  At this point, it will be nice to see some green outside instead of just drab old grays and browns.  

During our show, we celebrated the mid-March birthdays of two important members of the Country Music Hall of Fame:  Carl Smith (March 15, 1927 - January 16, 2010) and Charley Pride (March 18, 1934 - December 12, 2020).  These two even recorded some Bluegrass songs during their careers, though they didn't really record them in a "Bluegrass" style.  Still, their songs have often been recorded by Bluegrass performers, so we heard several songs from each legend's repertoire.  

Newer music on our show this week included selections from Carl Bentley, Jason Barie, Starlett & Big John, Joe Mullins & the Radio Ramblers, Billy Strings, Michael Cleveland, Greg Blake & Hometown, and the Gibson Brothers.
